eloquently and perfectly put as usual. for me, starting is sometimes more difficult than that final climb when my legs are already spent. »

i gave up beer and wine once. worst three days of my life. i am nowhere close to ideal weight, i figure i need to just get stronger, and no matter how light i am, the only way i see to progress is to get stronger. i’d rather be a strong guy on a “heavy” … »

@frank i say this is just another reason *why* we are the chosen ones. it’s real and raw, unapologetic, no false facade, it’s who we are. we don’t hide it and pretend we are above it, we ARE it. wiggins didn’t censor himself, why should we? one of the… »

oh, and i would much rather have the worst legs of Pantani than my best ever legs times five. »
excellent article. i thought it was just me. i don’t know why one day i will climb like a lion, the next day i will climb like a cripple. the days i have where my legs work like they should seem to be few and far between. also…nice use of the word a… »

i’m more of an “over the shoulder” guy, and i’m also more of a “dammit, i just blew snot all over my shoulder” kinda guy. i will try the under the arm method. luckily i’m an ambi-blower, i can launch a snot rocket either side, so i got that going for me… »

@brett i’m the same way. I’ve gone back and forth with the smoking, i found the bike keeps it away. I cannot do both, and lucky for me, my body chooses cycling. good piece, nice to know i’m not the only one. »

I don’t think that is tobacco. I bet Super Mario was a mountain biker at heart. I gotta say, even with bright yellow fingerless gloves, the guy is stylin’ like no other. »

@itburns @unversio i guess i’m a little jealous of guys who can ride rollers. i’ve tried, god knows i’ve tried. i tried in front of the tv, i tried with music, i once tried drunk (bad idea). the longest i ever managed to ride them was about 15 min… »
for everyone talking about rollers and trainers…yeah, i’ve ridden them, but to me, riding rollers or trainers is sort of like jumping up and down “training” to jump rope for the day you actually have a rope. same motion, but just not the same. nothing… »
