@ChrisO that is true, I believe they even have one in Scotland somewhere, but I guess I still think of the LBS as more of a local owner / operator one off store in the nearest town though. »

I got 2 weeks offshore to carry out some googling in between short bouts of actual ‘work’. So will be hunting down the best price for a decent latex tube, give them a fair try when I get back. Might even splurge on a couple new tyres. »

@Steampunk well I was trying to summarize what I had been reading, but I think I may give them a go myself, see if there is a difference. I check pressure with the track pump prior to every ride anyway so no loss there, and I am assuming they go to normal… »
WRT Latex tubes, I have been doing a bit of reading and there seems to be a few drawbacks. I would consider them for race / TT use but not general riding / training. Seems they lose pressure fairly quickly, are prone to blow outs if not fitted with great … »

Last few days I have had the most annoying creak on the pedal stroke when going uphill or a heavy gear. Checked pedals, BB, changed jockey wheels, lubed, cleaned, &etc. Finally did the now obvious and found a single hex on the chainrings was like 1 tu… »

@Dan_R okay. Thanks for clearing that up. »
@Dan_R WTF is that black thing ? Worse than those bleeding toe cover monstrosities. »
My thinking is, if this yellow jacket thing is important to you, for being seen by automobile drivers etc, then maybe get some obscure continental team jersey or a former team design or defunct team jersey which has a lot of yellow in it. e.g. Something… »

Date/Time: 8th June 2013
Location: Magdalen Yard Road Car Park, Dundee, DD1 4NBRoute Details: 170km starting in Dundee, reaching Cairn ‘O’ Mount, over the top riding a wee loop then back over and home to Dundee.Meeting at the Car Park near where I live which is free at VV to nine. We’ll then roll into town for a coffee stop at Empire State Coffee which serves the best coffee in Dundee according to the VMH. Then we ride all the way up to Cairn ‘O’ Mount at which point there are several options. For those with the legs it’s over the top and round a small loop before coming back over the Mount to then stop at The Clattering Brig for refreshments. Option Two is to ride up to the top, turn around and wait for those going over at TCB. The third Option is to just stop at The Clattering Brig and not take on the climb but I hope no-one chooses this option. Then the party of Velominati will travel back to the Car Park where showering facilities will be available at my place as well as some food before we walk a short distance for the recovery beverages. The long route climbing the Cairn ‘O’ Mount from both sides is about 170km. All welcome.
