Likes (in no particular order) riding his bike, racing his bike and arguing about cycling on the web. Has been known to adopt a contrary stance to his own just to start or continue an argument. When racing, has been described as looking like 6 million dollars - in that he appears to ride in slow motion, like Steve Austin. Most significant item in his palmares is overtaking Phil Anderson on Beach Road.

  1. I think certain exemptions can be had for imaginative and original costumes. I really did appreciate the first guys wearing surgical scrubs. Was it with Clenbutador? and Gianni you forgot to ban mankinis. Or do you want to keep them? And what about that… »

  1. @frank You want a seatpost that doesnt move? Get a frame with an integrated seatpost, like a LOOK. Allows for adjustment with the various size shims, and once you have your height dialled, there is NO movement. Then again, an ISP even with no post remo… »

  1. @ChrisO disappointed that you didn’t raise “mutual circle jerk” as a tautology. »

  2. @mouse not a lynch mob – but I am not joining in a mutual circle-jerk of congratulation for a guy who if he was say Spanish, the Anglos would generally be a lot more  suspicious/ dismissive. That being said I was barracking for him all the way up. Just … »

  3. Here are some Rogers facts. Make inferences as you will. Named by Leipheimer in his Reasoned Decision affidavit as being on 2 camps with Ferrari. He says this was a mistake. Profiled in 2011 by UCI as being a rider in the highest category of likely dopi… »

  2. All Evans was thinking on the way up was, “Fuck me, so this is what it’s like to have teammates on a hill!” He should get the lead on Saturday, and I imagine he will be very keen to offload it to someone in an unthreatening break on Tuesday. »

  1. @frank they seemed to miss the bit where the guy in second – someone who is a long way from being a pure climber – pulled back half of Wiggins’ GC lead »

Here are a few lessons learned while in New York City. I’m sure leaving a bar at one o’clock in the morning is not how the serious riders prepare for a ride with a 9 o’clock morning roll-out. I am sure. Conversational pace for a group ride means different things to different people. Eddy could talk your ear off at 40kph. Lezyne mini-pump owne...

  1. @frank Why the fuck were you wearing a helmet indoors? On such a day of days when you are presumably meant to be providing some sort of example, why Frank? Why? »

  1. @ChrisO correct. LBL oldest, M2W second. I am still sad that the Warney gave up its title as the longest one dayer to MSR by changing its route. @Daccordi Rider you just know that isnt a tie-your-own bow tie. »

  2. Useless trivia: Gerrans is now the only rider in history to have won both the oldest and second-oldest bike races in the world. And he would have caught Martin anyway. »
