Order: Level 4 Velominatus

McEnroeMark has not set up a V-Profile.

@McEnroeMark's activity:

Recently we had a photo of Yates on the stones. Two days later, it was the killer photo of Boonen getting down to business. Until then, Frank’s photo from that day was the best photo ever but @Harminator’s shot is better. Tom tosses the squeezed bidon. The glove-less Belgian is already on his own- it’s business time. I’ll be...

  1. Oh, might as well include this – my journal from the KT 2012, including a crapload of action shots!  The writing may not be the best, but you’ll at least enjoy the photos?! Enjoy! www.cruisingthecobbles2012.blogspot.com »

  2. Hey Everyone! Thank you, Gianni! This is such a compelling piece as it re-ignites all the giddy memories of last spring!  I miss you guys!  There are very few days that go by when I’m not sharing a story or daydreaming of the Belgian countryside!?! If I l… »

With Keepers Tour: Cobbled Classics 2012 stitched up and in the history books, the challenge of documenting the trip became immediately obvious; how do you take the myriad impressions, experiences, and perspectives and put them down in a meaningful way – let alone in a way that can somehow be digested. Surely, to document even just the Keeper...

  1. Unbelievable! Pretty stoked to find this news on my computer this evening!  Many great memories showering back – nearly as much as the downpour in the race today!  Great photos on Cyclingnews.  And can you believe that Boonen!  We were there for his incre… »

  2. http://cruisingthecobbles2012.blogspot.com Oh, and for those of you who were aware, I want to thank you for your kind words and such, I got the job at the University of Wyoming – I will be training at 7200 feet in Laramie, WY this fall…as well as teach… »

  3. I’ve been listening to all the Bruckner Symphonies with Solti and the Chicago Symphony this week – I’ve gotten to the point of nostalgia where I’m starting to piece together a “soundtrack” of our week in Belgium. Bruckner’s work is certainly a viable can… »

  4. @Bill Ah! There you are, Bill! Pretty easy to find you considering you call yourself, “Bill.” »

  5. @Gianni So true. I was dumbfounded, to be exact. There were a couple times that I actually became worried for Bretto – concerned that the man was wedging himself deep between a couple cobbles in l’Arbre. In the end, I felt fooled – still dumb-founded! »

  6. @motor city Exactly. Ran into to a random dude today who saw my shirt and asked if I went on the trip – proudly said yes and strongly encouraged him to do the same next year. He said, “someday.” I say the time is at hand, don’t wait for whatever reason… »

  7. @frank Yes, Frank, I will have to agree – the photos were fantastic! It’s good that nearly everyone was shooting. And I will have to agree, my vote for best shot (so far) goes to you and the Arenberg-Boonen shot with his bottle flipping off in the backg… »

  1. Totally forgot to add my photos to the photoshare – guess I’ve been distracted. Will get them soon, I promise. So great that you got to chitchat with Tyler! I’m not the least bit surprised – just proves again, that this trip just kept getting better a… »

  2. @Marko My audition/interview is Friday at 11am. Thanks for your support, man. I’ll let you know… »

  3. @Marko Ha! Exactly. Well, if they catch your eye, you might as well say hi, no? Maybe I’m wrong? We were looking out for each other, that’s for sure. »

  4. Curious, has anyone counted how many Belgian beauties Bretto captured with his camera? I’m thinking triple digits, no? Anyone? »

  5. @McEnroeMark And Frank – curious, I may be completely whacked, but I…well, I am whacked, so nevermind. But seriously, I was having some trouble figuring out how to add a photo to my ID. Could you advise, si vous plait? Merci. »

  6. @Marko Yes, smart. I bet this is on the stem (as I did the first time I ventured out with one) because they were too lazy to change the camera setting. Ha. Plus, the under-the-bar perspective is cooler – seeing the levers brake and shift. Again, Mar… »

  7. @frank Yes, I’m surprised it took you that long to recognize the abnormality of my mug and I. I probably shouldn’t have been allowed to ride out of the saddle – it may have beat the rim up a bit more as a result?! Which reminds me, I meant to true th… »

  1. Bravo! Thank you, Bretto. I got a good, solid kick out of this, “guys, guys, coom on fer fook’s sake!” Love it. That and, “Let’s boogie!” Dig it! »

  1. Bravo! Absolutely fantastic! Thank you, Marko! I couldn’t agree more, my friend. The “awesomeness” just kept getting better and better and better – the needle most definitely dipped into the extreme realm of Rad! Man, I’m still suffering from withdrawal… »

  2. Thank you for the well-composed and poignant prose, Frank. I am still suffering from some significant withdrawal. It’s incredible, really. When you stop to really dissect it, there are not many things in the world that simultaneously beat you to a seri… »

It has been a busy couple of weeks in the Velominati Boardroom as we’ve been scrambling to finalize a few partnerships and get all the products for the Keepers Tour customers designed and produced. Suffice to say, fists and beers were slammed in tandem as we feverishly worked out the final designs.Producing V-Pints, V-Shirts, and V-Musettes...

  1. I’m ready – at the pre-packing stage still, but mentally, nothing but pave. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and introducing myself to the pave. I’m ready to have the time of my life with you guys. See you soon, comrades! cruisingthecobbles2012…. »

The Bike. It is the central tool in pursuit of our craft. A Velominatus meticulously maintains their bicycles and adorns them with the essential, yet minimal, accoutrement. The Rules specify the principles of good taste in configuration and setup of our machines, but within those principles lies almost infinite room for personal taste. It seems in s...
