Originally born in a small town in New York State on the Buffalo side, my family moved to North Carolina when I was 11 yrs old. I adore this state. Mountains at one end, beach on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean on the other end, I get the best of all worlds. I live in the middle of the state and am lucky enough to have hills to challenge me. I ride for a team sponsored by a brewery (how cool is that?!?) and we have over 200 members. I do not race, I simply enjoy the ride. I have only been road riding since April 2012. Have had a small taste of mountain biking and plan on pursuing it to broaden my riding skills.

Some people are supremely good at it, reducing complex situations into matters of simple black and white. But after I’ve got my shoes on, I ooze Fluidly Harmonic Articulation. As Cyclists, we wield the mighty power of The V, yet lay victim to the na...

  1. @Frank I almost shot coffee out my nose over the cowbell skit. Now all I can hear are cowbells and all I can see is the horrible dancing accompanying the sound. Thanks. I think I need a long ride today to cleanse my psyche after that. »

It is October, the last VSP of the season is up, there is still some race in China no one cares about. The road racing season is over. It is time for a little Velominati reflection. We tried to put in as many women’s races into the VSP as we could. They get little press, finding a start list is tough, picking the top five even tougher. But th...

  1. @PeakInTwoYears      Totally agree with you. I have no problems with any colors as long as the frame and components are good quality. I fact, I like being feminine when I ride, I don’t have to go back to my young tomboy days. I have learned about myself… »

  2. @Sauterelle       I understand your point with the colors, so did you threaten Trek when they decided on some of their colors for their 2013 WSD’s? Yes, they have a pastel blue, but it is also countered with a chili-pepper red bike and a deep eggplant pu… »
