@motor city The adjuster might have cranked itself up (or you might have done it) or the limit screw could have moved (don’t think this happens often). Try backing off the adjuster first and try the shift. Then try to push the mech over with your thumb…. »

Date/Time: 8th June 2013
Location: Magdalen Yard Road Car Park, Dundee, DD1 4NBRoute Details: 170km starting in Dundee, reaching Cairn ‘O’ Mount, over the top riding a wee loop then back over and home to Dundee.Meeting at the Car Park near where I live which is free at VV to nine. We’ll then roll into town for a coffee stop at Empire State Coffee which serves the best coffee in Dundee according to the VMH. Then we ride all the way up to Cairn ‘O’ Mount at which point there are several options. For those with the legs it’s over the top and round a small loop before coming back over the Mount to then stop at The Clattering Brig for refreshments. Option Two is to ride up to the top, turn around and wait for those going over at TCB. The third Option is to just stop at The Clattering Brig and not take on the climb but I hope no-one chooses this option. Then the party of Velominati will travel back to the Car Park where showering facilities will be available at my place as well as some food before we walk a short distance for the recovery beverages. The long route climbing the Cairn ‘O’ Mount from both sides is about 170km. All welcome.

@xced Is this a joke? Surely the police should be alerted and this young lady have her licence removed. »

@V-olcano Anyone who is already a velominatus or wants to follow The Rules won’t buy it. »
I bought a YJA before being introduced to the Rules. Thankfully it still has the label on it and has never seen my back and will soon appear on ebay. The great part of this article is the notion of riding intelligently. I always ride as if the driver h… »

@Gianni Ha, I just got up, can’t lie too long or my back gets stiff. VMH will be sleeping for Scotland in the Commonwealth Games next year so I have to amuse myself here until I can go and wake her up. »
@PT @Patrick Actually, and @Gianni will be able to correct me if I’m wrong, there is no ‘R’ sound in the Hawai’ian language. While there in 2002 (O’ahu) I got a fun book called Hawai’ian for Haoles. Haole being the local word for white folks or outsi… »

Maybe “autodidact” isn’t quite right. Been dying to use it in a sentence. What I meant was I’ve read about it, I haven’t ever experienced speed wobbles. »
@Tobin From the memory of an autodidact, not experience you put weight on the bars to stop a speed wobble. @ Frank As a nervous descender I think you for this article. I’ve gotta Rule #9 this out of my psyche. It might also have something to do with a … »

@Deakus I try to tell myself it’s only a bit of fun, especially since I only get good points when Vos is racing, but I WANT THAT FUCKING APRON!!! »

@the-farmer Zipp recommend acetone for cleaning sticker residue from their rims but i wouldn’t use that on a paint finish. @Sauterelle That sounds like a fancy American product we just don’t have in the UK, wish I had some though! »
@the-farmer Heat it up with a hair drier then remove any residue with a rag with turps or white spirit on it. »
@Deakus It’s quite confusing. Let’s face it the clue is in the name, a STICKER, is a generic term for something that you stick on, usually having an adhesive backing. Like you I always thought of Decals as the things you got with the Airfix kits that yo… »
@Gianni I’d always taken this rule to mean don’t stick stuff on your bike (name tag excepted) and the decals are the livery that comes already attached to your frame etc. Of course the safety stickers and the size sticker should be removed as soon as … »
