Usually i do have all the spare tools and 2 valve extenders in my repair kit, exept today.

under any circumstance i take of the tyre and look for the puncture , but i had bought the sealant kit some time ago and it was burning a hole in my back pocket. i just had to try it ( i never tried one before) so i decided it was the perfect opportunity to give it a go.

semi slow leak , not rapid pressure los but in about a minute i noticed a slight wobble on the wheel and decided t stop and feel up the tire to confirm my suspicion

Corsa cx, had em on for about 1000km and must say they are nice(25mm are flush around the wider 808fc), my tyre flatted while semi offroading in a street under heavy construction , lot of junk /pebbels / shards lying around

The most important thing is that you got home safe.

However to make your experience less stressful next time make sure you got a spare valve extender plus tool to screw it on.Also before you jump to use Pit Stop try to find a puncture and if it looks too big don't bother with sealant and just put the spare on.Later on when you get home and you're more relaxed look for the puncture and see what you can do about it.Most of the time putting the spare on is quicker than looking for a puncture, cleaning it and using judgement whether sealant will work or not.How old was your Corsa CX anyway?

Also how did you puncture? If the air suddenly escaped from the tubular underneath you than you know more or less that the puncture is too big for the sealant to cope.If you noticed slow air leakage and the tire became softer over longer period of time then sealant might help, although not always.

Hope you have a spare one ready to be glued.

The Lezyne patch kit i got as a sample on the keepers tour saved my butt today!

I was out for a ride and as we approach the furthest point from home in our loop i got a flat in my Vittoria corsa's, as they are mounted on my zipp 808's i inflated it back up with vittoria pit stop, but to no use , it flatted again. i went thru my toolkit to look for a new tube, valve extender and a gas bottle... No valve extenders.

Fumbled a bit trying to get the valve extender off on the leaked tyre but it was glued solid. i was about to throw in the towel and look for a ride back when i remembered i had the Lezyne patch kit i had dutifully placed in my tool kit when i got it on the tour.

Time to give it a try, a first for me . roughed up the tube, placed the patch sticker, inflated the tyre and bingo i was back on my way. a

A happy cyclist stoked i got that patch kit from the keepers!

kudos to the keepers tour boys and lezyne. i saw this combo coming!

i too love lezyne stuff. i have a good bit of their stuff and love all of it. even their lights are great with removable, rechargeable batteries and tons of brightness in a compact, sexy design.

i would like to offer some thoughts on the road drive pump, for anyone who may be interested in one... i recently replaced my topeak pocket rocket hp with the road drive medium and so far love it (less pumps and easier pumps at the end). but i do have some complaints. namely, they should have glued on all the rubber bits as they fall off all the time (before i glued them). it would SUCK if they were gone when you needed them most; especially the washers that seal the hose to the end. secondly, the handle end has to be open while pumping. this means you're then pressing your palm against an open hole hundreds of times; which hurts a good bit at the end, when you're really working. the topeak is rubber there, which is REALLY nice. probably not an issue if you've got gloves on and they've got decent padding, but i don't always wear gloves. as i said, i do love it, even though it's not perfect. the strengths make up for the weaknesses; i just think the weaknesses could likely be easily fixed.

i think i'm ordering their sv10 (or maybe carbon 10, if i can justify it to myself) next. i've been running the sv5 and love it but i recently broke a chain (two week old sram 1091r too; guessing it had a stiff link but i have no idea) and, lacking a chain tool at the time, was stranded 20km from home. it'll probably never happen again (or at least i hope not), but i'd like to be prepared if it does.

Polished Aluminum (or al-u-min-ium?). Anyway, Yum! Purchased a set of their sexy tire levers not too long ago in response to one of Frank's article. I just had to have them. They currently reside, via industrial Velcro, on the underside of my saddle parallel to the rails. The only bad thing about them being there is that I don't really ever see them and their shiny beautimus shape. As I really only have 1 road bike, not switching between bikes isn't a big deal.

@Ron Yes, a small black Pressure Drive mounted under the bidon cage is in my near future. Between that and the mounting of the levers, I'll be pulling off Rule 29 and minimal luggage in the jersey pockets - the ideal combination.

Woah, I never thought of that. One of my road bikes indeed has smooth valves. Never had to use the Road Drive on that bike when out on the road. Hmm, I wonder if I'd be able to inflate the tube considering the hose wants (needs?) to thread onto the valve.

I guess I should try this at home today. Glad this has been pointed out before it happened on the road, not sure why I didn't consider it before.

On my way to the track shortly to watch the Team Pursuit final - GB qualified first, AUS second in the third and fifth fastest times ever.
Add to that the Womens Team Pursuit, the Mens and Women's Team Sprint (Hoy v Perkins, Pendleton v Meares) and the Mens Scratch Race - and you have a pretty solid night on the boards.

Lezyne rules re: their pumps. I have one of each of the bikes. The mini pump with the screw-on hose/valve is the tits. No more bent valves when rushing to change a tube. I haven't tried the floor pump but it looks to be a thing of beauty, as do most of their products.
The EMPB replacement satchel is fantastic and fits all that needs to be stored. Cages work nicely and I even have a messenger bag that looks fantastic and has enough compartments and storage thingamijigs to successfully lose track of where I put stuff.
All of these items are solid, durable, stylish, quality items which don't cost an arm and a leg.
Bless their cotton socks (if they made them?)for being a great and generous company to boot. Chapeau to The Keepers for their choice in product.

I like everything I have from them - multi-tools, the pocket satchel bag, and yes, the frame pumps.

I'm gonna come clean & I think this is the place. I like carrying both C02 & a pump. I don't want some jokester pocket pump that takes 321 pumps to inflate a road tire. I don't want anything but the necessities in my pockets. And their Road Drive size medium are so fucking nice I put them under my ST cage & break Rule 30. Or, are the Lezyne pumps so nice they might require a rewriting of the Rules, as I think they could well be the modern Silca pump.

I dig 'em, and I like having one less thing to put in my pockets or remember. Black one on my black bike, silver one on my silver bike. First time I used it was during a group ride/race. The head know-it-all tried to tell me how to swap a puncture, too bad I was done & all he could do was marvel. Those pumps get you up over 100 psi fuckin' fast.

Anyway, nice one Keepers Tour lads! That's awesome - to show up & have some sweet as gear waitin' for ya. Enjoy.

I've never had to resort to using my pump against a dog... Hope I never have to. I mentioned that (very real) use for a mini pump during a group ride once and got some filthy looks. I'm a dog lover, but I am not letting a dog sink his teeth into me if I can help it. Yet another way that CO2 cans fall short.

Their portable pumps are great, especially since they have added the pressure release button on the attach fitting, and they work well as an anti-canine billy club... Have to try one of the floor models when my current pump bites the dust.

Lezyne either does it well or doesn't bother in the first place. It seems like everything they produce is well thought-out, beautiful, functional and very well made.

I have both their minipump and their wooden-handle track pump. Amazing things, and nothing's better than the screw-on hose (although I've had two tubes it wouldn't fit - they had no threads).
