The Rules is an essential part of every cyclist’s kit””whether you’re riding to work or training to be the next Greg LeMond or Marianne Vos. Since 2009, Velominati has become an online cycling mecca, where The Rules helped to guide Cyclists towards The Way of the Cycling Disciple.

In this book, the Keepers go beyond The Rules as they exist on Velominati.com; we’ve organized them into V sections, and wrote exclusive new content surrounding each of the 91 canonical Rules. We share tips on gear, tell stories from cycling’s legendary hardmen, and enforce the etiquette of the road””with a healthy, often sinister sense of humor.

Practical and motivating, unflinching and authoritative, The Rules will help Cyclists everywhere find a passion to do the most important thing of all: love riding your bike, and keep riding your bike.

    Hi

I tried to purchase the rules from Amazon only to find it was only avaialable for the new kindle paperwhite and touch and not my slightly older kindle. Is this Amazon doing this?

Amazon tends not to listen to little folk like us; they march along to their own drummer, whom I believe may have played for Metallica at some point.

In fairness, most of the negative reviews we have are from disgruntled Kindle users whose kindle were old and the text looked horrible. Maybe they’re trying to fix it? (Sorry, I use paper books, not electronic ones so I’m a bit out of my depth here…)

  3. @frank The text in The Rules looks horrible even on the newest Kindle Paperwhite. I believe it’s because the book has all these graphics and layout-y bling, and not just plain text. The Kindle will display each page in full, but the resolution is too low for it to look good. You can zoom in on individual paragraphs, but it’s still not optimal. Using the Kindle reader app on my phone gives a much clearer image, since it’s both higher resolution and a color display.

That said, I do love the book, and I’ll probably try to get a physical copy of the U.S. version sometime soon. (Kindle version was the U.K. edition, even when bought from Amazon U.S.)

  4. Hi, we have a cycle cafe and shop in the UK and would like to stock the book for sale. We have a copy in the cafe and keep getting asked if we sell them. Who do we contact to arrange this? Thanks
