The inaugural English Cogal is to be set in The Shropshire Hills. Nestled against the Welsh border, this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offers some of the finest cycling roads England has to offer. From Shifnal the route will take us though the Ironbridge Gorge, and south into the heart of the hills. We’ll skirt round the back of Brown Clee Hill, before heading west towards Wales. We’ll then go over one of Shropshire’s most recognisable land marks, The Long Mynd. It’ll then be time to head back north, through the town that lays claim to being the birthplace of the modern Olympic Games(no really!), Little Wenlock. From here it will be a short spin back to Shifnal for a well earned beer or two. More beer will be involved on Saturday night, as well as the traditional curry. What more could any Velominatus want?
