It’s Cogal time, it’s Cogal time (sung like Germaine in the Concords). Doug Wilcox, firstname.lastname@example.org, is inviting all to a fun-fest in Indiana, USA, in late June. Map My Ride link to be added when I figure out where it goes. VLVV, Gianni
As part of Team Nebo Ridge’s Summer Challenge Series, this is the third annual addition of a 210 km tour of the three major lakes of central Indiana. Weaving in and out of rolling country side, suburban towns and quaint country villages, we ride to, and then circumnavigate, Eagle Creek Reservoir, Giest Lake, and Morse Lake. What the route lacks in elevation changes, it makes up for in the form of brisk pace, length and a day-long battle with the usual heat & humidity (or is it the humility?). Our cogal strikes out at the first light of dawn, racing the sun as it rises over beautiful Eagle Creek State Park, and ends under the full glare of a unrelenting Indiana summer day.
Pace is planned at Casually Deliberate– however, traditional treachery and deceit tactics are always a possibility. Regroups as needed, provided that dropped riders are deemed to be within the vague yet ambiguous “striking distance” rule. SAG points will be at the Nebo Ridge shop as the routes sweeps back past on the way to Geist, and at a select convenience store along the way. Post-ride recovery beverages will be will be available at 106th Street Grille–conveniently located at the start/finish locale.
