I love how we’re debating the merits of how a guy fucking celebrates decimating a top class field in one thread & at the same time completely ignoring the fact that one of the women absolutely crushed her top class field for over 100k’s to win the stage last night…so much so that it didn’t even rate a mention in Frank’s report*.

*This could well be down to the fact that it kinda ruins his theory on Aussies & catching wind in races.

Seeing the womens race at Flèche Wallone this year was really cool. Some pics below to show their V and put some names to faces…

Mur de Huy 200m to go – Stevens leads Vos final lap. Vos overtook, Stevens regained to win. No love lost…

Clara Hughes wins bike races and speed skating races. 8th at La Flèche.

Judith Arndt finished 6th but wins because she’s the only rider all day to climb the Mur in the drops – man or woman.

Tiffany Cromwell finished 17th.

I was away for a week, ending today, and didn’t take my laptop charger. Iphone is from Singapore so haven’t used it in Melbourne. Pretty much no web access.

Had my sister share her connection last night and was idly browsing – saw 1hr to go for this VSP event and shat a brick. I was pretty sure I would get back today and just have to place my picks for TdF.

Despite being on the schedule, this was a big surprise and I came close to the Delgado maneuver myself.

Yes, a huge amount Delgado’d; there is so much attention on the Tour, it is really cruel of the UCI to syc this race with the biggest event on the calendar.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, the UCI have no fucking idea what they’re doing and there needs to be full replacement of the top levels of that organization. They pretend like they’re trying to promote the women’s events and then they do this. Its crazy.

The Keepers fell victim to it ourselves; getting ready for the Tour, we knew it was on the calendar but didn’t imagine it was actually in sync with the fucking thing.

Consider it a Schleckanical. Those of you who Delgado’d can hold a press conference and point out that you won’t lose the VSP due to a Delgado. And then lose the VSP to exactly the amount lost by Delgado’ing the VGiroVSP.

Do not put a rider’s name in more than one, folks. Cereal. It will make the scoring system go all googlie-eyed. I just loaded up a process that checks for duplicate entries and warns us of them; after reviewing your picks we find you indeed have duplicate entries, the only sensible thing we can do is clear out all your picks and email you to let you know you need to re-enter them.

Please note that this comes at your own risk of missing the VSP. If you enter EDDY EDDY EDDY EDDY EDDY and we don’t see it before the VSP closes, you will have effectively Delgado’d due to the fact that we’ll have to remove your picks from the mix and you won’t have an opportunity to re-enter them.

Sorry for any inconvenience, but since this is clearly a Piti Principle violation, I allow you to refer to Rule #5 should you have any problems with this approach.
