    @Ron
    Thank you for bring this back to CYCLING.

    Brett, ++1 for your Jenny Craig’s joke. Next person to cite a long list of weights get banned from the site.

    Oooooooooohhhhh….I couldn’t ban any of you sorry sods. I love y’all too much. But seriously.

    As for the RIDERS in the PHOTO. Yes, that is Brech fo’shizzle. His sleeves say “Post” not “POL” – as in Danske Post, one of his sponsors.

    In my defence, I quoted heights and weights of major GC riders. It was the other monkeys that then converted this into a navel gaze!

    Riiiiiiiggghhhhhtt….

    @Buck Rogers

    Ahhhh, jeesh, you’re no fun!

    First time I’ve been accused of that!

    Been travelling to Newark last few days. Incredible. Every meal has been a PILE of food. This is not a healthy city. I’m going to have to get my hands on some clenbutorol. The healthiest meal at the hotel restaurant was a ribeye with onion rings. It’ll be good to get back home and do some rain riding and fasting.

    I do feel a bit bad about being the ArchDuke Ferdinand instigator o=n the weight posts. To make up for it, I believe that this is an acceptable exception to Rule 16.

    I am still trying to eke stats out of this but will leave it to others. If you want to join in copy and paste the last list (use below) and add your numbers. The submit post function knocked out the nicely rectified lines I had everything in but this still works and maybe if @all join in it will be informative?

    Not playing, but let’s just say I’m on the low side in all categories.

    Jeez, what the hell kind of mass hysteria has hit this thread?

    Just say “no” to posting height and weight on the Internet

    @Marcus

    I don’t wanna screw up the pretty chart. Can you add 1 kid to my data? Gracias.

    Regarding bike racing, anyone going to the London Olympics? cyclingnews has the ticket prices for the cycling events. Which leads to this question: How do you charge for tickets to a road race?

    Way too much fun to join in. I like telling people I’m trying to lose a couple kilos when they’re carrying a paunch.

    Is everyone a giant on this site? I clock in at the shortest 4cm! Still trying to figure out how Jeff is only 63.5kg. Short of defaulting on a few loans from Shylock, there’s no chance I get there.

    JiPM…179cm / 63.5kg /44
    BR…..179cm / 74.5kg (67kg) /39

    Wow, just when I think you can’t screw up any more than you already have, you go ahead and do something like this…AND TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELF.

    The only problem with that rebuild – which rules, btw – is that it doesnt have the right bars. Merckx rode super deep drop bars. Probably hard to find these days.

    I love that site. Blown way too many hours of m lIfe over there.

    I think @Jeff in PetroMetro is using imaginary numbers in his arithmetic. You know, like eleventeen and thirty-twelve.

    @Jeff in PetroMetro
    At the winter olympics in Vancouver, they were charging for stadium seats at the finish or on the circuit. Must be what they’re doing there. Haven’t looked at the route, but they might even be able to control the course enough to only allow access through ticketed locations. That would suck ass.

    Of course, that was another thing our friend Pharmstrong was doing besides paying off the UCI – trying to control access to longer and longer sections of the finale. It would be a shame to spill all those expensive drugs on the street when you get some road rash.

    @Jeff in PetroMetro
    At the Sydney Olympic’s, the majority of the road race was free, apart from the finish line of course, which had reserved seating from memory (though I may be wrong on the last bit?). Almost impossible to police when the event is on the open road plus they promoted it as one of many “free” events that could be viewed by everyone. Unlike the Beijing Olympic’s where they were even turning away rider’s family members from certain vantage points along the route.
    I was living on the course at the time so was able to view everything for free anyway!
