I love Gaviria’s finish ! And the black sox too btw. I delgado’d the VSP and completely missed the race. But I’ve watched the final km a couple of times each of past mornings. And this am I’m still saying to myself, so cool. What a great attack and finish. To ride away from a peloton full of sprinters in final km ??? So strong. Wow.

Don't get me wrong, I do like a good sprint and I like that the Worlds cycles through course types to give most riders a chance every few years. But especially if the heat forces it shortened to just the final circuits, round streets devoid of fans in a country that doesn't, and will never, care about cycling any more than it cares about human rights or good taste
